Non-Personally Identifiable Information

Big Leaf also collects non-personally identifiable information ("Non-PII") via the Website. Non-PII is information that, on its own, may not be used to identify or locate a person or entity. It includes your IP address, browser type, and your computer's operating system. Big Leaf collects Non-PII in the following circumstances:

  • When you use the Website, the Big Leaf servers automatically collect Non-PII, which may include but is not limited to, the Non-PII items described above, and web pages viewed. We use this information to improve the Website, and for reporting purposes.

Cookies and Tracking Pixels

Big Leaf uses "cookies" in connection with the Website and the Service. A cookie is a small data file that the Big Leaf servers transfer to your computer for record-keeping purposes. Big Leaf uses "session ID cookies" to better understand how you interact with the Website. Big Leaf also uses tracking pixels (sometimes called "1x1 pixels" or "transparent pixels"), which are small images on a web page or in an email message, used to transfer activity data.

Third Party Data Collection

Big Leaf may use third-party companies to serve ads, which may involve collecting Non-PII (like the pages you visit, which links you click, which ads you see and click, categories of search terms you use, and limited demographic data such as age and gender) when you visit the Big Leaf Website.

In addition to the data collection and use practices outlined above, we may share or otherwise disclose information to third parties under the following circumstances.

Aggregate Information and Non-Identifying Information

Big Leaf may share aggregated information with trusted partners as well as the press in order to demonstrate usage of the Service, and for publicity purposes. Such aggregated information has no PII content.

Service Providers

Big Leaf may employ third party companies and individuals for business reasons. These reasons may include, but are not limited to, Website maintenance, Website hosting, web analytics, and administration. These third parties have access to PII only as necessary to complete their jobs on our behalf, and are bound by contract to not disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement

Big Leaf cooperates with government and law enforcement officials and private parties to enforce and comply with the law. Big Leaf will disclose any information about you to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as Big Leaf, in it's sole discretion, believes necessary or appropriate to respond to claims and legal processes (including but not limited to subpoenas), to protect the property and rights of Big Leaf or a third party, to protect the safety of the public or any person, or to prevent or stop any activity Big Leaf may consider to be, or poses a risk of being, illegal, unethical, inappropriate or legally actionable.
